Brian Vander Ark (Singer of Verve Pipe) Performs Solo at State Theater

Brian Vander Ark (lead singer of Verve Pipe) returned to Bay City' State Theater for a solo act on Saturday, November 27, 2010. Vander Ark's last appearance at the State Theater was on November 28, 2009 when Vander Ark performed during a Verve Pipe Reunion.

Vander Ark performed songs from Verve Pipe including the hit "The Freshman", Vander Ark solo's and new songs, including a new song he wrote with Jeff Daniels.

Vander Ark invited special guests, from Nashville, Tennessee, Channing & Quinn, singer & song writers. Vander Ark said he liked introducing new musicians to Michigan and vice versa.

Also joining Vander Ark's performance were Randy Sly on Keyboards and Bryan Frink on Bass.

In an exclusive interview with MyBayCity.com, Vander Ark said, "I had a busy summer, I did over 100, of what I call, lawn chair shows, which is a lot of fun."

"But I always look forward to coming to the State Theater in Bay City. This is one of the best places in Michigan, there is nothing better in the state."

Vander Ark continued, "It was well worth the wait, I looked forward to it, since we booked it 9 months ago." Vander Ark said. "As long as Mike (State Theater) keep asking me to come back, I will!"

The 6.5ft tall, slender, family man, who was born and raised in Michigan, currently resides in Grand Rapids, has added to his family since his last visit to Bay City. He now has a 4 month old baby girl along with his 5 year old and his wife.

With his solo acts and touring with the Verve Pipe Vander Ark said "I keep busy with both bands to entertain myself."

Vander Ark heads to Florida next week but is looking forward to spending more time with his family in the months to come.

Mike Bacigalupo, Executive Director of the State Theater commented, "As usual, Brian Vander Ark came out and poured his heart out to the audience which was well received by everyone."

Bacigalupo, also announced Vander Ark will be back for a double show on MARCH 12, 2011. A family show at 3:00 and then Adult rock show with The Verve Pipe performing that evening.

Bacigalupo concluded, "I cant stress it enough to come and get your tickets early as these two shows will sell out quickly!"
