Pittsburgh Law School Grad Returns Home -- "Hangs Shingle" in Bay City

Krystal R. Casey has returned to her home -- Bay City, Michigan -- to practice law. Casey is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, one of the top tier law schools in the country.

Casey's concentration of study during her three years at Law School were Elder Law, Tax Clinic and Understanding Legal Services in the Marketplace.

Law School Honors included, Alumni Association Scholarship, Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation Scholarship, William Wallace Booth Memorial Scholarship, Community Service Award and Best Oral Argument.

Casey also attended Delta College, and University of Michigan and studied B.S. Bio Psychology and Cognitive Science.

Casey is conversant in Spanish and German and said she would like to learn Polish.

While attending law school, Casey worked at a Tax and Elder Law Clinic for two years, handling clients from start to finish. Casey explains, "As a result of this experience I feel I have better background then the average student."

Casey was a former employee at Norman Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan. Casey said of Harrison, "He is a wonderful man to work for and is still a mentor to me."

Casey decided to open her own law firm in Bay City, because there is a need in this community for Elder Law. That is one reason I came back to the area, "I knew there was a need, so I'm so happy that I am here for people in this area."

Casey said, "If you are familiar with 'Porters Business Model', I developed my firm using that motto, I've worked with business developers to fit and apply the model to the legal service industry."

Casey focus is on General Practice (DD & PI), Elder law. "It's a field thats constantly changing", said Casey. Casey also helps clients with issues concerning, Pensions, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Probate, Trust & Estates, Health and Long term care insurance.

Casey contributes back to the community volunteering as a Ombudsman in the area. Casey makes regular visits in and out of nursing homes and is familiar with how they are run and understand the patients needs.

Casey recently got engaged to Scott Danielak and has a July 2011 wedding planned.
