Runners, Athletes Flock to 6th Annual Bay City Fitness Expo

Bay County Community Center is Host to Well-attended Event

When it come to racing, Greg Meyer is a pretty famous guy.

But when it comes to the Bay City Michigan St. Patrick's weekend, Meyer says he's "just one of the guys."

Meyer had nothing but praise for the Expo and especially for Director Ann Gasta. "Ann just does a great job with both the Fitness Expo and the actual Al Kayner Race on Sunday," Meyer said. "I just love it here in Bay City for the St. Pat's weekend."

Meyer, the 1983 WINNER of the Boston Marathon was on hand to shake some hands and share racing stories with visitors to the 6th Annual Fitness Expo held Saturday at the Bay County Community Center in Bay City.

"I have previously run in the St.Pat's Race," Meyer said. Meyer went on to say that he had other commitments for 2011 and had to return to his home in Grand Rapids on Saturday. "Maybe next year," Meyer said.

Fitness Expo Director Ann Gasta was just bubbling over with enthusiasm. "Look at all the people," Gasta said smiling. "It's great. We've got 16 GREAT vendors here for the Expo," Gasta said. "There's something here for everyone."

Impact Sound Entertainment emceed and supplied the tunes at the expo.

    Runners/Walker's were also able to pick-up their packet for Al Kayner's St. Pats 5K and 8K races at the Bay County Community Center during the Fitness Expo. Late registration on race day was also to be available.
