Spring Downtown Divas Weekend will be taking place again this year in Downtown Bay City on Mother's Day weekend. This event includes a variety of activities for Divas of all ages.

And with over 100 one-of-a-kind shops, dining and entertainment options, Downtown Bay City is the perfect place for the ladies to make special memories and to just have fun!

The Downtown Management Board started the Diva weekends in 2007, taking place in both the spring and fall. The spring event has become a Mother's Day tradition for the ladies of the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond.

We've even had attendees from Georgia and Arizona! And again this year we expect a sell-out of our signature Saturday morning event, Fashion & French Toast, which includes a run-way fashion show and a delicious French Toast buffet. No wonder it sells out! Here's an overview ...

My Momma Told Me...You Better Shop Around! Special Diva Delights take place all weekend long at unique downtown shops and eateries. Enjoy new spring products, food samplings and giveaways. A list of participating businesses and their special activities are available at downtownbaycity.com

Friday, May 6, 2011: Cocktails in the City
This unique Diva event has live music, food samplings from downtown eateries, and a special fashion accessories show. The event takes place in the beautiful Pere Marquette Depot, 1000 Adams St., from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each or 2 for $15, cash bar.

Saturday, May 7, 2011: Fashion & French Toast
A bountiful breakfast buffet and a special run-way fashion show will highlight spring and summer fashions and accessories from downtown boutiques. Each Diva will experience the "Diva Treatment" by receiving a goody bag filled with coupons and surprises, plus, giveaways from a variety of downtown businesses. Held at the Atrium restaurant, 1100 N. Water St., 9-11 a.m., tickets can be purchased before the event at locations throughout Downtown or if still available, at the door, $20.

Time and Money Saving Tips in the Kitchen, Saturday at Alice and Jack Wirt Public Library - Join author Darla Jaros for this not-to-miss workshop! This workshop will cover the many tips included in her book "The Kitchen Assistant". Registration required beginning April 7th at 893-9566 ext. 2123.
