The Tri City Motor Speedway welcomed Saginaw Township's Zachary Kennedy, 3 1/2, to sing the National Anthem on Friday night.

Zachary stood high above the crowd while waiting for his turn with the mic. He grinned from ear to ear as he saw many smiling faces looking back at him. He belted out the Anthem as if he was standing in his living room, not in front of a full grandstand.

Linda Schmidt, grandmother, says he's been singing since he was 2. It was his first time at the race track, but he sang the anthem for his preschool and in February on WKCQ.

After he finished singing Zachary was allowed to wave the green flag to start the event.
