The United Way of Bay County is inviting the public to attend the Community Report to be held Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at the Grand in Essexville. Call 893-7508 for a reservation.

The meeting will report results of the on-going 2004 campaign, unveil a new United Way logo, and highlight the positive impact United Way program services have on the community, according to George Heron, U-W executive director.

The United Way is concluding its fall campaign but is stressing the message that it is not too late to make your commitment to this organization that serves 19 partner agencies and funds 38 different programs that help people, said Mr. Heron.

Aided by a virtual "army" of 14 campaign cabinet members, five loaned executives and hundreds of volunteers in businesses across the community, United Way has been seeking support for their fall campaign since it kicked off in September.

In just a 10 week period, United Way hopes to raise over $1.6 million dollars for people in need. They will do this by seeking support from individuals as well as corporate gifts.

"While the economy is on a downturn and local businesses are employing fewer people, families in our neighborhoods are struggling and we must come together to get through these rough times," stated Mr. Heron.
