I'm getting tired of supporting my . . . FURNACE!

The furnace really just turns on whenever it feels it needs to, runs for as long as it wants to, and has no respect for my monthly budget.
The other night my furnace would not stop running. It was set at 68, but it just seemed like it would not shut off.
Does it know how much it costs for it to be on?
Why should I keep supporting my furnace's habits, if its just going to sit there, and run all day long without contributing to the household?
Sure it keeps me warm, but so does a blanket!
Plus the blankets only a one time expense!
A blanket doesn't send me a bill every month for exorbitant amounts of money!
Plus, the furnace is like a teacher, the damn thing has every summer off, and sadly enough, my furnace probably costs more than the average teacher's salary!
