First winter weather of 2012 is just refreshing for a letter carrier.
January 15, 2012

After a good, heavy snow in November, Michigan seemed to forget the white stuff. A few flurries here and there, but for the most part December 2011 and the first week of January 2012 were just plain balmy... temps were in the 40's and even reached 50 in some areas.
Finally things have changed, at least for now. The second week of January ended with a winter storm warning and some snow. Nothing piled up, and the temp was only in the mid 20's, but at least the world was looking white.
So the kids got what they wanted. Friday had people enjoying the snowfall on roads and yards. Snow blowers were pulled out again and cranked up. Then Saturday dawned with beautiful blue skies and sun on snow. It's time for sledding and enjoying winter's splendor.
A typical snowy street. Drive carefully and just go slow!
Time to tune up the snow blower and get to work.
