"This is the only bar around that TRULY supports music and musicians", said local musician, Jeff Yantz, speaking about Bemo's located at 701 S. Madison Ave. in Bay City's South End.

Bemo's, owned by Luann and Rob Erwin since 2007, is a unique music venue, in that it offers live music 6 days a week and encourages musicians to come out and play original music.

Bemo's can be found on Facebook for a list of scheduled weekly artists.

Recently, talented local music artist, Andy Reed, debuted his newest band venture An American Underdog with a vinyl release party of Always On The Run on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at Bemo's.

Friends, family, supporters of Andy Reed and those who just came to hear some good music, were in for a treat from the moment Andy and the band hit the stage at 10pm.

Despite feeling under the weather and running a temperature of 101, Andy said, "The show must go on!" and go on it did.

Known for his travels with The Verve Pipe and for his work with many musicians at his recording studio, he continues to grow and expand his musical talents as Singer/Songwriter/Producer of 'An American Underdog'.

Andy's music can be found at reverbnation.com as well as keep abreast of newest events and information on An American Underdog on Facebook.

Joining 'An American Underdog' for the vinyl release party was popular band The Banana Convention.

Fellow talented musician is Jeff Yantz, whose 2nd CD Dance In The Rain released in 2011, showcases all original songs with a folk/americana/indie flavor.

Jeff also recently played at Bemo's with Jeff Schrems, formerly of Sprout, who brings amazing sounds of bass, guitar and banjo playing to the table.

Jeff and Jeff entertained with their unique styling, ending with a "hootenanny" including Kevin and Kyle Spears, a father-son acoustic duo.

Yantz continues to write and record and is "beginning the process" of another CD. He can be seen at the casual networking event, Bay City After 6 on March 7, 2012 at Old City Hall on Water St. in Downtown Bay City.

Find more info on Facebook for 'Bay City After 6' for this fun, monthly group meet up.
