The Brick Award was developed by the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club "to recognize the contribution a business makes to the community when it constructs, expands, or renovates its facility."
The Bay County Historical Society was recently honored to receive the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club Brick Award.
According to the Chamber, the Brick Award was developed by the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Club "to recognize the contribution a business makes to the community when it constructs, expands, or renovates its facility." Interior or exterior improvements that show a commitment to the Bay Area qualify a business for a Brick Award, and the business must be located in Bay County.
The Brick Award is limited to only those improvements which have been completed ?within the year prior to nomination.? The award was presented to the BCHS to honor the culmination of work completed over the preceding year that ended with the 100th Anniversary of the building dedication ceremony in September, and included the changes to exhibits, physical plant, the Museum Store and flagpole work.
Ron Bloomfield, Director of Operations and Jeff Staudacher, BCHS Board member accepted the award on behalf of the Society at the Chamber?s Eye Opener breakfast on January 10, 2012. The brick is currently on display on the information counter near the front entrance.
