Genealogy research is very popular today.
To help new researchers wade through a seemingly endless sea of in house and online information, the Bay County Library System and Bay County Genealogical Society have teamed up to offer free introductory classes at the Wirt Public Library, 500 Center Ave. in Bay City.
In ?Discover Your Roots? on Saturday, March 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 am, you will learn how to research your family history using the census available on Ancestry Library Edition, find vital records and organize your research.
An additional class, ?Introduction to the Genealogy Databases Ancestry Library Edition and HeritageQuest? on Saturday, March 31 from 9:30 to 11:30 am, will not only show you the different types of records available, but also help you discover how to search and find genealogical records using these great databases.
Seating is limited and registration is required for both. Please contact the Wirt Reference Department at 893-9566 ext. 2200.
