Rep. Brunner Joins Workers and Environmentalists to Call for Green Jobs Legislation.

On Monday, May 7 at 10 A.M., Rep. Charles Brunner will discuss Green to Gold jobs legislation on the campus of Delta College. Brunner will then introduce the bill on Tuesday.

Green to Gold provides needed business capital for clean-tech startups to get their ideas off the ground, thereby creating opportunities for innovation and job creation. The legislation also covers the retraining that will give Michigan workers the skills necessary to help these businesses flourish.

"In the 16 months that the Legislature has been in session, Republicans have yet to produce a single bill that will create jobs," says Rep. Brunner of Bay City. "I went to Lansing to help get people back to work. This proposal would create high quality jobs in growing industries that are good for the planet and the economy."

The Michigan State AFL-CIO has endorsed Green to Gold as part of the 2012 Good Jobs Agenda. The bill also has the support of the Sierra Club, Michigan Clean Water Action and the Blue Green Alliance.

When: Monday, May 7 at 10 A.M.

Where: Delta College; 1961 Delta Rd.; University Center, MI 48710

This event will be held in Building L Room 133, which is a Solar Education Classroom.
