It was the tale of two halves as each team dominated their half and punched in two goals. But John Glenn's Connor Windiate saw an opening and rifled a shot that was too high for Pinconning's goalkeeper Cole Schlicker but soared just under the bar with three minutes left in the game to give the Bobcats a hard earned 3-2 win.

John Glenn came out strong to start the game. Keeping the ball in their offensive zone, the Bobcats put pressure on Pinconning. The effort paid off as Nathan Seifferly took a pass from midfielder Josh Grimmer and blasted a shot just inside the far upright of the goal for a 1-0 John Glenn lead.

Glenn kept the pressure on and tallied again halfway into the first half. John Glenn's Christian Lamont sent a corner kick directly across the Pinconning goal mouth, where Josh Grimmer chipped a shot above the shoulder of the Pinconning goalie for a 2-0 first half lead.

The second half saw a different contest. It was Pinconning's turn as they kept the pressure on John Glenn's goalkeeper getting numerous good opportunities. Garrett Gage made the hard work count midway through the second half. Beck got things started for Pinconning when he drove down the right side and made a solid kick that was blocked by Glenn's goalkeeper, Chandler Michalsky. As the ball trickled to the right of the net, Beck kicked it across the goal line whereby Gage was able to beat the goalie to the ball and find the left corner of the net narrowing the margin to 2-1.

Codey Wilson tied the game for Pinconning with 6 minutes remaining. He followed his shot that was initially stopped by Michalsky and picking up the rebound, he found the left side of the goal for a 2-2 score.

This all lead to the shot of the game. With three minutes left to play, John Glenn's Connor Windiate found himself with the ball down the left sideline. "I heard a player call for a cross pass," Windiate recalled. "I looked and saw the right side of the net was open so I took the shot."

And what a shot it was.

Windiate turned and without hesitation unleashed a long high kick that sailed just over the leaping goalkeeper and just under the crossbar on the right side of the net for the game winner. Windiate estimated the kick to be 35 yards and being that he also is the kicker for the football team, that distance seemed to be right. "I knew that I was far out but with three minutes left to play, I thought I'd better take the shot."

The goal was Windiate's eighth of the season and none more important so far as Glenn notched their second win to go with a tie in 6 games on the season. For Pinconning, it was only their third loss in 9 games.
