Flu Season Beginning It's prime time to get your flu shot from a highly-trained nurse and avoid the flu this season. All you have to do is stop by one of the Visiting Nurse Special Services Flu Clinics in the next couple weeks.

Influenza, commonly known as "flu," may seem like a minor inconvenience, but it is a highly-infection virus.

Symptoms include fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, dry cough, nasal discharge, sore throat, and fatigue. Severe flu can lead to complications including pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinus or lung infections.

More than 200,000 people are hospitalized each year due to flu complications, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Each year, about 36,000 people die from flu complications, according to CDC statistics.

"Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to get their vaccine and stay healthy this winter," said Jill Lenhard, VN!
