Negotiations Underway with Song Publisher to Restore Pure Michigan Video

A secondary copyright claim to the song "Good Time" has put a glitch in the statewide Pure Michigan Sing-along video.

The video, made with the help of thousands of state residents, has been pulled off YouTube as the publishers have asserted they did not give full permission to the promoters.

Rob Bliss and Jeff Barrett traveled to 50-Michigan cities in one week to film scenes to create a stirring visual tour of the state to the tune of the song ?Good Time."

Many people in Bay City, Midland, Saginaw and Frankenmuth appeared in the film, dancing, singing, playing instruments, riding boats, standing on bridges, etc.

The filmmakers say they thought they have permission to use the song, but apparently Songs Music Publishing had a secondary copyright claim they were never informed about.

Barrett says negotiations are underway and hopes are to get the Michigan tour video restore soon to YouTube.
