Lights, camera, action!

Thursday, October 4th, 2012 at 5pm will ring in the start of Hell's Half Mile Film and Music Festival, which goes thru Sunday, October 7th.

This grassroots event has grown into one of the most popular and anticipated Fall events in Bay City. Not only is there an impressive film schedule, which includes short programs, documentaries and full length features, it entertains with a fabulous music festival as well.

There are numerous activities associated with the event and you will often find me there enjoying at least one of them, all four days of the festival. there is truly something for everybody.

If loud and proud rock is to your liking, you may want to check out Double Jack playing at Willew Lounge on Thursday, October 4th from 9pm to midnight. Willew is located at the corner of Midland Rd. and Two Mile Rd.

Fans of country music will have an opportunity to hear two great bands on Sunday, October 7th, 2012 from 2p-8p, when Steve Armstrong and The 25 Cent Beer Band and Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys hit the stage at Westown Theatre.

Steve Armstrong & The 25 Cent Beer Band have made significant strides in their fan base in a short time. After winning Michigan Idol in 2007, Armstrong put together a powerful lineup of talented musicians with expertise in different genre's of music and began playing in local clubs. They have now taken their music statewide and continue to gain fans wherever they go. www.25centbeerband.com

Gunnar & the Grizzly Boys band hit the ground running in 2009 and the continues to bring their high energy country rock to sold-out crowds all over Michigan and the Midwest. The band has opened for some of the biggest acts in country music including Gretchen Wilson, Lady Antebellum, Craig Morgan, Ty Stone and others and promises to be an exciting band to see this Sunday. www.gunnartunes.com
