Bay County, MI - In the coming weeks Bay County residents are asked to be on the lookout for a herd of yaks roaming the area.

However, the Bay Area Community Foundation would like to assure everyone this herd is quite peaceful and on the move for a good cause!

The Bay Area Community Foundation's Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is conducting a fundraiser giving you the opportunity to donate to a good cause while having a little fun with your friends and family.

The YAC is a group of 7th through 12th graders from area schools who work to make Bay County a better place for youth through grantmaking and a variety of volunteer activities. This fundraiser involves a herd of two dozen yak yard signs.

If the "herd' descends onto your yard you can choose to send them packing early and/or pick where they will graze next for a small donation to the YAC. For $10 the herd will be removed that evening. For $20, not only will they be removed, but participants can specify where they would like the herd to graze next.

Should anyone choose not to participate, the removal of these yaks will be done at no charge, so the Youth Advisory Committee would like to ask you to please not damage the signs.

The committee would like to thank everyone for their sense of humor and support in this endeavor.

For more information, or if you find a herd in your yard, please contact Jeffery Tenbusch, by calling 989.893.4438 (work) or 989.415.5641 (cell), or emailing jefferyt@bayfoundation.org.
