What's on my agenda this weekend?
Well, let's see...
Once again, Bay City provides a diverse field of entertainment over the weekend and it's going to be hard to pick and choose the things I can get to.
But, I'm going to start out Thursday, October 18th, by hitting the
Kingfish Restaurant & Tiki Lounge for a fall wine tasting. It's only $10.00 and there will be over 100 wines, live auction, cool music, food and MORE. It goes from 6p-11p and the Kingfish is located at 1019 N. Water St., in Downtown Bay City.
Friday, October 19, 2012 I may stretch my creative muscles and join in at
ThunderBrew Coffee for the
Day of the Dead & Motley Mug Painting Contest' to create my own creepy or colorful mug.
All work will be entered in the contest and will be displayed at
Painterly Potterylocated at 904 N. Water St., Bay City, MI, through Thursday 11/1 for
1st Thursday Gallery Walk. ThunderBrew is located at 521 Washington Ave, Bay City, Michigan 48708.
Friday night there's a good chance you'll find me at
Willew Lounge kicking it with the girls and listening to one of my favorite local bands,
Slick Jimmy. Willew is located on the corner of Midland and Two Mile Road. The band plays both Friday and Saturday night and they are always a treat to listen to.
RUNA will in town Saturday night playing at the beautiful
State Theatre located on Washington Ave in Downtown Bay City.
Runa draws on the musical backgrounds of its diverse band members and "brings a contemporary and refreshing experience to traditional and more recently composed Celtic material."
The
Concert for Peace is also Saturday night and is fundraising event benefiting the Bay Area Women's Center. Headliners
Mandi Layne & The Lost Highway will perform. Country rock fans will particularly enjoy this band.
Barts will be host to the event which goes from 6:30p-10p. Tickets are $15 for one or $30 for three and are available at the door.
As if all this weren't enough, I am very interested in attending the
'3 Songwriters in the Round' featuring Ron 'Rosco' Selley, Dan Vaillancourt and Mike Brush and hosted by Bob Hausler at Midland Brewing Company which is located at 5011 N. Saginaw St., Midland MI.
It is a free event and an all ages are welcome, so bring the whole family for a great afternoon of original music and stories. They don't serve food BUT you can bring in your own food to eat while enjoying microbrews, homemade root beer and orange pop.
