Meet Taylor Lutz:
BC Central Student Will Cover School News at MyBayCity

Hello, my name is Taylor Lutz and I am a Junior at Bay City Central High School. I am involved in quite a few organizations at Central, including NHS, Ecclesia, Link Crew, and the forensics team. I am an aspiring journalist and I hope that I can learn what it takes to become a great journalist while working here at My Bay City.
When I leave high school I want to pursue a career in journalism and marine biology. My fascination with marine biology surfaced while I was on vacation two summers ago in Cancun, Mexico. One of my biggest goals is to become a writer for National Geographic, because it combines my two favorite things into one profession.
Acting is one of my favorite hobbies, and something that I have been doing since I was in third grade. I have been in a number of plays while I have been at Central, but my favorite by far was Godspell during my Freshman year. I volunteer as a Director for Youtheatre at the Bay City Players in the Spring, and as a director I get to pass on what I have learned about acting to kids in the community. I also love acting in forensics, because we get to present the piece that we are doing in front of judges, and we get to compete against teams from all over the state.

My family and friends are the most important thing to me, by far. My parents are the two people that I admire the most in life, and I appreciate the fact that they are always pushing me to do my best. I have two sisters, Karissa and Quinn, and even though they drive me crazy sometimes, I have to admit that my life would be pretty boring without them. I also have about thirty cousins, between my mom and my dad's side of the family.
Our family is quite large, but we all go to West Virgina one weekend during the summer, and get to visit the family members that we don't usually see. Friends are also a really important aspect of my life, I have two best friends, Jami, who I have known since 1st grade, and Miranda, who I have known since 6th. Jami and I have been friends so long that we are basically like sisters, we know everything about each other, and Miranda and I became friends because we both share the love for acting and theatre. In fact, most of my other friends are those who I have met through participating in plays at Handy and Central.
I am so glad to have the opportunity to write for My Bay City. I have dreamed of becoming a journalist since I was twelve, although I never really thought that anything would come of that dream. I am hoping to learn more about journalism while working here, and improve my skills as a writer.
