Sunset Astronomical Society holds 8th Annual 'Night Under The Stars'

The largest telescope in the Tri-Cities will be unveiled at Imerman Park.

Saginaw, MI - The Sunset Astronomical Society, the Tri-Cities premier amateur astronomy club will be holding their 8th annual public astronomy event in conjunction the Saginaw County Parks and Recreation Department.

"A Night Under the Stars"begins at 4:00 pm Saturday, May 14, and concludes at dawn Sunday. This yearly event is an opportunity for families and individuals to look through telescopes and learn about the night sky and See Jupiter and Saturn through a telescope.

Featured at the event will be the public unveiling of the club's new 25 inch telescope - the largest telescope in the Tri-City area.

Highlights of the evening include:
    **Looking through telescopes to see Jupiter, Saturn, galaxies andmore

    **Touring the night sky to learn to identify stars and constellations


    **Seeing the Star Lab Planetarium Show from the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science & Art

    **Strolling through a scale model of the solar system

    **Listening to presentations geared to the beginning star gazer. Presentations include talks about getting started in astronomy, how to star gaze, how cool is Outer Space, making a comet, and A Tour of the Keck, the world's largest telescope.

Cost of parking will be $2.00 per vehicle.
