Bay City, MI - The 2013 Bay Area Community Foundation scholarship application is now available. This one application allows students to apply for up to 15 different scholarships.

Scholarships will be awarded this spring from over 100 scholarship funds to graduating seniors and college students from Bay and Arenac Counties. The scholarship application can be completed online at www.bayfoundation.org.

Students will find a link on the Bay Area Community Foundation's website to create an account to submit their information. Applications and all attachments are due to the Foundation by March 4, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.

If a student has any questions or concerns, they are highly encouraged to visit the Bay Commitment College Resource Center, located in the first floor of the Pere Marquette Depot at 1000 Adams Street. Advisers are available to help students find and apply for scholarships, navigate the financial aid process, and discuss alternatives for affording their educational aspirations.

To schedule an appointment, please call Renee Courier, Program Officer, at 989.893.6026.

"In 1985, the Bay Area Community Foundation awarded one $300 scholarship. Since then, the Foundation has awarded over $3.5 million in scholarships to over 3,000 students. We are delighted to be able to implement programs and strategies that will allow students to realize academic success," said Eileen A. Curtis, President & CEO.

The Bay Area Community Foundation believes education after high school is essential for the future of the community. "Our donors support the efforts of local students seeking additional education," Curtis stated. "As a community based foundation we assist donors who want to help students reach their academic goals."

If you would like more information on how to establish a donor sponsored scholarship endowment fund, please contact Eileen A. Curtis at the Bay Area Community Foundation, 989.893.4438.
