The Connecticut Shooting . . .

(From the Drawing Board of John Bellsmith)

"This past weekend I had several projects scheduled with deadlines to hit. But I couldn't seem to find my creativity to tackle those projects as I continued to struggle greatly with the calamity of the Connecticut school shooting. Finally, seeking some type of comfort I found my way to my drawing table and started aimlessly sketching. What you see it the result.

"I sincerely hope that my lifelong idol, Charles Schultz, would not mind my temporary use of his timeless Peanuts characters. To me, Peanuts has always been the iconic symbol of childhood and innocence.

"And on Friday an element of that innocence was robbed from all of us. I'm not ashamed to say that there were several teary moments as I went through my pencil to paper healing process. I felt a mixed sense of sadness and honor as I drew a set of angel wings for each of the victims at the school.

"The sketch is just my way of finding a way to cope with this horrible tragedy and it is in no means meant to offend anyone or violate the privacy of the grieving families. Thank you for allowing me to share this and be sure to take care of each other, we're all that we have.

"Please feel free to share it you wish."
