This Thursday, Bay City All Saints will be playing a "throw back
game" against Akron Fairgrove.
The game will take place at St. Joe's Gym.
This gym will bring back many memories for All Saints grads, especially during the 70's.
In addition, on Thursday there will be a ceremony honoring first team all state players from many of the teams of the past years.
A good number of first team all state players
will be in attendance, according to All Saints spokesperson, Mike Gwizdala.
Those early teams were coached by the legendary and Bay County Sports Hall of Fame Inductee, "Lefty" Franz." Teams coached by Franz won 545 games during the coach's career. "I'm sure there will lots of memories to share Thursday night," Gwizdala said.
All Saints will honor its former first-team All-State basketball players -- Drew Janer, John Pike, Al Laskowski, Gary Rasdorf, Mark Talaga, Billy Harris and Jeff Szczepanski according to information published earlier this week in the Bay City Times (MLive).
The ceremony is expected to start at 7:30pm and will follow a 70's theme.
"Put on your bell bottoms and your cross fire high heeled shoes and
your leisure suit and come on over to the "Joe" for a great game, some great memories, and seeing all the alumni on Thursday night," said Gwizdala.
This year's Cougars are on a two game win streak after beating John Glenn last Friday by the score of 75-64 in OT.
"Come out and support the Cougars
on Thursday December 20 at your favorite gym, St. Joe's," Gwizdala added.
