Joey Atchinson To Audition For 'The Voice'

Saturday, January 12, 2013 local musician, Joey Atchinson, will take his dreams along with his talent, to Chicago, IL. Popular television show
'The Voice' is holding vocal auditions and he has his official pass to be there.
"I'm excited to go, but nervous too." said Atchinson. He went on to add, "There are a lot of good singers out there and I'm a little fish in a big pond. But, I have to go for it and I have to give it my all!"
The Voice where many have realizes their dreams!
Those who have heard Joey sing know he is a talented performer with an array of catchy original tunes. His own songs and crowd favorites of familiar tunes, grab listeners right off.
For as long as he can remember, he has been composing and singing, as far back as a song written especially for his kindergarten teacher, to humming tunes on the school playground. The passion continues today as he hones his guitar skills, sings and writes music full time.
A former
Michigan Idol winner, based in part on the original tunes he performed during competition, he captivated his audience and the judges alike.
Says
Michigan Idol judge, Diane Szczepanski, "There was something about Joey that immediately perked my interest. His songs were thoughtful, well written and complimented his singing style and vocals perfectly." She went on to say, "I've been lucky enough to really watch him grow musically."
He writes with a depth beyond his years. Joey remarks, "My favorite thing about music is it's power to move people, whether physically and emotionally."
Influenced from a variety of music genres from the likes of Elvis to Maroon Five. Joey's performances still add his own originality and uniqueness.
He performs in a variety of venues and has been spending time in the studio recording tracks over the last several months. A CD is currently available at his performances and are located in
