McLaren Bay Region Restricts Visitors

Due to Increase in Upper Respiratory Flu

Due to the rapid community-wide increase in cases of influenza (upper respiratory flu) and other viral infections, effective immediately, McLaren Bay Region is restricting visitors to those 18 years and older and healthy, per Dr. Darrell Stuart, Chair of the Infection Control Committee.

The Michigan Department of Public Health recently sent out an alert, warning of an increase of patients being seen in doctors' offices and emergency rooms with flu-like symptoms.

Health officials say three children in Michigan have already died this flu season.
