The 2013 guided tours will be held during the school day on Wednesday, May 8th, Thursday, May 9th, and Friday, May 10th.
Educators, sign up now to reserve a date and time for your students to attend the 18th annual School Tours at Thumb Octagon Barn & Agricultural Museum, Gagetown.
This educational field trip - for PreSchool Through 8th Grade Students - allows the children to participate in up to 24 of stations, based on age/grade levels, that depict rural Michigan in the early 1900's; plus live farm animals in the Barn, too!
The guided tours will be held during the school day on Wednesday, May 8th, Thursday, May 9th, and Friday, May 10th. Tours take about 4 1/2 hours, but shorter tours can be scheduled to meet the needs of the students and their schedules.
Each student/chaperone brings their own lunch/beverage. Tours begin at 8:30 AM and every half hour thereafter with last tour beginning at 1 PM each day. Donation is $2.00 per student and also for each chaperone; tours held rain or shine.
Theme for the 18th annual School Tours at the Thumb Octagon Barn & Agricultural Museum is "Soybeans and Related Products." In 2012, about 1,000 students from six counties attended the educational guided tours!
Using the web site, (thumboctagonbarn.org) reserve a time for your students to attend; go to "Events," then scroll down to School Tours 2013, fill out form and e-mail it. OR contact: Diane Rapson Gabil, chairperson, School Tours 2013, (drapsongabil@chartermi.net or 989-892-3105)
