Jean Ann DeShano from Remax Results in Bay City has gone GREEN! Deshano recently purchased a 2012 Mitsubishi I-MIEV from Showcase Mitsubishi on Euclid.

"I bought it to save on gas," said DeShano, who has had the car for just a short time.

Mitsubishi offers a two-year year lease, and the buyer can get up to $2500 back from Consumers to install a 240 volt home-charging station. But the car can be kept fully-charged with a normal 110 outlet.

DeShano said that she normally spends between $450-$500 a month on gas. "Since I purchased the I-MIEV, I haven't spent any money on gasoline," she said.

According to factory brochures, the I-MIEV can be charged at a normal 110 household outlet for a cost of just $1 a day.

The I-MIEV can easily fit 4 people inside, safely, in seat belts and has a range of 60-100 Miles on a full charge.

"I've already put over 200 miles on the vehicle and I have to say I'm in love with my I-MIEV," DeShano said. "It even handles really good in the ice and snow...it handles better than my old van."

Andy Lieber owner of Showcase Mitsubishi said "Unlike traditional gas vehicles, the electric vehicle is most efficient in stop & go city driving."

Lieber said the dealership is "currently taking orders, because we can't keep them in stock." The lease deal runs through the end of February. "This vehicle goes further on a dollar than a moped does! It has air conditioning, heat, heated seats, power mirrors, power locks, it has the same options as a traditional car!
