After years of talking about it . . . Bay City is going to have a first annual Singles Paddleball Championship.
It will be called the
Wackerle City Championships, in honor of Bay City's most famous and fierce player ever Randy "The Wack" Wackerle. The plan is to hold this event every year on the third week-end in March.
Tournament organizer, Mike Wisniewski announced the 2013 event is set for (next week-end) Saturday March 23rd and added . . . "sorry for the short notice."
There will be two divisions offered for this years event, Open and B division, A division and C Division will be drop down divisions for those who do not advance in Open or B.
Cost is $15 or $20 with lunch and trophies provided.
Wisniewski hopes that the planned format will provide a larger 1st round draws in both divisions so there will be no round robin play.
Anyone interested in playing should contact Wisniewski at 989-245-7162. Wisniewski says to call immediately if interested in participating in this first of many years to come tournament.
