Key goals of the Public Affairs Division of your Bay Area Chamber of Commerce are:
- Bring together various view points on issues and policies to improve the Bay Area business environment and quality of living, and
- Implement a cooperative community and economic development program designed to create economic stability and growth, with an emphasis on jobs, income and tax base expansion.
The Bay Area Chamber is hosting its State Legislative Luncheon April 26th at Bay Valley Resort & Conference Center with Senator Mike Green and Representatives Charles Brunner and Jim Stamas. Next month, May 14 and 15, Chamber members will journey to Lansing to participate in our State Capitol Visit. These efforts, which follow our State of the Community Luncheon which featured local government and education leaders, are established to assure good communication in our joint efforts to make the Bay Area even better.
To help accomplish this, your Chamber will also host a Congressional Roundtable and a Business-Government Leadership Summit this year.
The Bay Area Chamber manages and promotes Leadership Bay County which aims to increase the commitment to and involvement in Bay County?s governmental, social and business environment.
The Chamber is also working with the Bay Area Community Foundation and local government/private sector representatives to lead development of an effective, inclusive strategic plan to improve Bay City and Bay County.
These are just a few examples of Bay Area Chamber events and programs designed to bring together all segments of our community.
