The question has been raised numerous times and the answer is always the same when asked to Race Director and Head cheese Marty Schultz. The question being in reference to the June 15th 30th Annual CheeseTown Challenge Races XXX logo may be symbolizing something pornographic.

"I've had several people quietly pull me aside or into their offices and sheepishly ask if I realized what XXX stands for," said Race Director Schultz. Schultz explained: "The answer with a laugh is I guess it's where you're state of mind is. It was actually copied from footballs Super Bowl 30th logo with the thought of Super Sharp Cheese in mind. Now if you're thinking somewhere else...Well? lol!"

In talking with graphic artist John Bellsmith, Schultz said that we realized it could be looked at as super good or super bad. We determined super sharp is very good cheese and the CheeseTown in slang terms is a Super Bad event but whichever way it might be seen it has gained the CheeseMendous amount of attention that we hoped it would.

Schultz says that when guys ask if the "XXX" is going to be on the race shirts and find out that it is. . . the immediate response is I'm In!

Women on the other hand are a little hesitant at first saying if it's on a white shirt they're definitely not wearing it but they'll still be in the race mentioning it's something to do with a possible see-through factor but then with a little smirk they add if it's on a yellow shirt . . . no problem.

That might also explain why the yellow shirt is leading the pole on the CheeseTown website www.cheesetownraces.com over the white shirt 3 to 2 on which shirt color will be given out to race participants. (Maybe, more women must be voting!)

The CheeseTown's 30th Annual Commemorative Medal which will be given to all Finishers whether 1 years old or 80 and they can run, walk or crawl across the finish line of either the 5 mile race, 2 mile fun run /walk and yes the Little Meeces race. It is also carrying the same XXX design and sports a very cheesy neck-ribbon. Everyone that's visited the website where it also can be seen or I've shown pictures of it agree it is Super Sharp and they are going to enter the event just to get the medal and have it for a keepsake and conversation piece.

Registration for the CheeseTown Challenge Races is available on the website at www.cheesetownraces.com where a printout form can also be obtained for mail in. Race brochures have also been distributed to several Pinconning businesses where they can be picked up and mailed in also. More information can be obtained at the website and by emailing marcheese@charter.net or calling 989-879-5617.

Look for next weeks article for a Very Super Sharp announcement! Until then Spread The Cheese! Get Your Cheese On! 30th Annual CheeseTown Challenge Races Saturday June 15th Be There or Be Square!
