RUN FOR BEACH WELLNESS: 7th Annual Event at State Park Slated June 22

The 7th Annual Beach Wellness 5K run/walk, 10K run & volleyball tournament is scheduled Saturday, June 22.

Kim Coonan, county commissioner and co-chair of Beach Wellness with Ernie Krygier, said so far contributions include $1000 from AT&T, while the Bay Area Runner's Club(BARC) has donated bottled water for the runners.

Lori & Bob Redmond have contributed $200 as well as providing food permits and a number of needed items on the list to be sure that the event is again successful.

Progress is being made with The DNR for permitting to groom the beach.

We are working to acquire an additional 1000' of beach in front of the Spray park.

Laura Ogar from Bay County is applying for grants to install a boardwalk from the spray park down to the shoreline on the additional 1000 feet.

Money raised from Beach Wellness will be used as a match for this new boardwalk.

Duperon Industry continues to work on equipment to maintain the shoreline; we hope to have that equipment this year.

We appreciate all the support over the years for Beach Wellness, that has allowed us to continue to improve access to our beach.
