BAY CITY - Catholic Federal Credit Union presents the 35th Annual Golf Scramble to benefit the Bay Area Catholic Schools (BACS) on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Bay City Country Club, 7255 S. Three Mile Road , in Bay City's Frankenlust Township . This is one of the oldest, continuous, fundraising golf outings in the area. It may well be the oldest!

Any player who sinks a hole-in-one on a designated hole will receive a new car thanks to Dean Arbour Ford. Participating individual golfers and foursome teams will be eligible for prizes based on their shooting that afternoon. Individuals will compete in "tournament best" categories such as closest to the pin and longest drive. Members of the winning foursome will receive a prize package as well.

Additionally, all participating Catholic organization teams will compete for the 1st place prize of a Catholic traveling trophy. Last year's winner of this special award was St. Stanislaus Parish Team! Will they do it again? Will a Knights of Columbus or Altar Sodality team walk off with it this year?

Cost for individual golfers is $150; foursome price is $600; included are lunch, drink service, including beer and soft drinks, on the course, open bar at the cocktail hour, prizes for all participants and a great sit-down dinner to conclude the day. Sign-up is now underway through BACS Development Office at 989-892-2533 ext. 44. (Golfers need not be Catholic nor live in Bay County to play!)

A range of sponsorship opportunities are also available through the BACS Development Office. Contact Kathy Swiercz soon for lining up your favorite sponsorship spot. Special thanks to A & M Church Supply for their sponsorship of the St. Christopher trophy.

Funds raised from this golf event will be used to support Catholic school education in the Bay City area.

Bay Area Catholic Schools (BACS) continue the Catholic school tradition begun here in the 1850's, now providing 3-year-old preschool through 12th grade faith-based, solid academic education via the schools listed at the lower left of page 1. BACS employs more than 50 people and functions as a "system" of Catholic schools.

BACS students provide thousands of hours of community service and outreach here in the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond. BACS has a 100% graduation rate, with 98% or more continuing on to college annually and meeting with great success there also.

BACS is spiritually and financially supported by the 13 Vicariate IV parishes listed at upper left. To learn more about BACS, log onto www.bacschools.org .
