Midland, MI - May 31, 2013 - There are an unlimited number of nonprofit golf outings in the Great Lakes Bay Region but Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf for Kids' Sake event is the one you won't want to miss. In its 23rd year, the annual regional fundraiser will be held on Monday, June 10th at the Midland Country Club. With just a few teams left, the outing is slated to be a sell-out event and a crowd pleaser for the golfers, sponsors and volunteers involved!

Golf for Kids' Sake is one of the region's premier nonprofit golf scrambles with the reputation of providing golfers, sponsors and volunteers with a first-class experience. Two flights of golfers from across the region gather to enjoy 18 holes of golf, games of chance and a day of fun all in the name of a life-changing cause. This year's outing will feature a special golfer gift, new on-course games and a new door prize raffle experience!

"Golf for Kids' Sake is a terrific opportunity to enjoy a round of golf or promote your business while also making a significant difference in the community," says Susan Putnam, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great Lakes Bay Region. "Big Brothers Big Sisters prides itself on hosting a top-notch event that caters to our golfers, sponsors and volunteers, and we do it all for the sake of providing the children we serve with a very basic need- friendship."

The outing also features the launch an interactive Bids for Kids Online Auction that allows golfers and community members to bid on unique auction packages. Popular packages include a "Traverse City Treasures Getaway", "Dainty Diva Birthday Party" and a unique, "Meats and Beats with Johnny Burke" that features a celebrity cookout with WHNN's very own Johnny Burke. Auction items also include "Little Moments. Big Magic." packages that allow bidders to sponsor a unique learning experience for the children in our program. "Little Moments. Big Magic." packages include a radio broadcast experience, canoe trip, rowing lessons and much more.

In late 2012 the agency launched a campaign, ?,000 Starts with One," with a goal of serving 1,000 children in the Great Lakes Bay Region by recruiting 1,000 mentors one-by-one. The agency currently serves over 400 children in the region and the golf outing and online auction will raise funds to help reach the goal.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and are customized to meet the needs of the supporting business. Golf teams are also available and serve as a great opportunity to gather friends, co-workers or family members together or to treat your employees or clients.

The Bids for Kids Online Auction will launch the morning of the golf outing and will remain open for bidding until June 20th. To view a few of the available auction items potential bidders can visit http://www.biddingforgood.com/BigBrothersBigSisters/bidsforkids.
