Annual Toni & Trish Bike Run A Great Success

June 10, 2013
By: MyBayCity Staff

On June 8th 2013 there was a motorcycle rally held to raise money for the Toni & Trish House located in Auburn. The Toni & Trish House for the Care of the Terminally Ill is a non-profit care facility.

("Special to MyBayCity from Tim Ostrander")

Trained volunteers at Toni & Trish House offer shelter, meals, and personal care, as well as around the clock emotional and spiritual bereavement support for the guest and their family. Toni & Trish House is staffed primarily by volunteers, working collaboratively with community hospice agencies. They are here to support and supplement family care, and to serve as a resource for understanding palliative end of life care.

The ride itself is put on by three local small businessmen: Scott MacKenzie, owner of the Wil-Lew Lounge, Bubba of Bubba's Tri-City Cycle and Fred Pickering, owner of Pickering Automotive.

The event started at Bubba's, where registration started around 10am until noon. We then left on the ride led by Bubba & Fred. The ride was about 80 miles with three planned stops and around two hundred bikes in tow.

One of the stops was at Toni & Trish House where cold water and cookies were there for all the riders. You could also visit the home and see the wonderful care the home can give to your loved ones.

From there it was back to the Wil-Lew Lounge for food and entertainment. We were greeted with a barbecue of chicken and pork with all the fixings and four live bands to make it a perfect day.

I?m sure plans are in the making for next year's event and with good riding, food and entertainment and best of all good friends for a good cause, how can you go wrong. I'll be back next year, how about you?
