Downtown Beautification Project to be Installed Before July 4th Fireworks

The Leadership Bay County Class of 2013 along with the Downtown Management Board have received approval for a permanent and temporary encroachment permit, today, for the installation of three concrete planters to adorn each of the four corners of Washington Ave. and Center Ave. in historic Downtown Bay City.
This beautification project was submitted and accepted by the LBC class this past December and class members have been working on making this project a reality ever since. Fundraising was done through the donations of a silent auction that was held concurrently with the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting.
Installation of the nearly 800 pound planters is set to commence on Monday, July 1st, 2013 with planting to follow the following day, and a Ribbon Cutting/Celebration to follow on Wednesday, July 10th, 2013 at 5pm on the corners.
