Mike Wendland's newest book is a useful tool for folks confused by the iPhone.

We all need help using the iPhone, a source of unlimited information and communication capability.

But turning to 14-year-old cousins Brad or Kiki, high schoolers with their phones glued to their ears and who are pretty sharp, often doesn't cut it.

Perhaps you would have better luck consulting PC Mike.

PC Mike is Mike Wendland, who started out in radio in Bay City, now a national technology expert for NBC-TV.

His most recent book is 101 iPhone Tricks, Tips and Apps from PC Mike, available as an e-book from Amazon.

"The iPhone is the most revolutionary personal technology device of this generation and tens of millions of loyal users around the world attest to its power and versatility.

"But the vast majority of iPhone users are only taking advantage of a small part of this awesome smartphone's potential. That's where award-winning personal technology reporter "PC Mike" Wendland comes in, sharing his iPhone experience, expertise and excitement through 101 very useful apps, tips and tricks.

"PC Mike very well may have been the first person in the U.S. to officially buy the iPhone when it went on sale in the summer of 2007. "And since then, in his popular no-geek-speak weekly PC Mike reports for NBC Television stations around the country, he has eagerly shared his knowledge with his many fans.

"In this practical, easy-to-read book, he's sure to teach even the most experienced iPhone users and thing or two about their phone. And for all of us, his 101 apps, tips and tricks will make us love the iPhone even more."

Mike isn't new at this: you oldtimers may remember he first made the big time with a book on --what did they call it??? -- CB radio. I think it was the CB Users Bible, or something like that. I have one in the basement, or maybe I left it in my Gremlin. Who can remember?

That was after Mike was a star reporter for The Bay City Times, The Detroit News and WDIV-TV in Detroit.
