BANGOR TWP. - The plastic injection molding company, MCG Plastics, Inc., received unanimous support Tuesday night by the Bangor Township Board.

According to company officials, MCG Plastics, Inc. was granted a 12-year, 50% abatement on personal and real property taxes. Mario C. Garza, Owner of MCG Plastics, Inc. said that the investment of over $600,000 will go towards the expansion of his current business in the form of a more than 15,000 square foot space. The new space will be utilized for warehousing as well as to provide additional floor space at his current 16,000 square foot facility.

"We were out growing the space and it was becoming harder and harder for us to work well," said Garza. Garza believes this expansion will allow him to hire one to five new employees on top of the 25 jobs that will be retained by this project.

MCG Plastics, Inc. was established in 1992 by Garza and he continues along today with his wife, Annette, as a plastic injection molding company with clients such as Gougeon Brothers, Globe Fire Sprinkler, Sultan Healthcare, Riviera Trolling Systems, Off Shore Tackle and NTZ Manufacturing.

MCG Plastics, Inc. future plans are to continue to meet and exceed the needs of their customers while also continuing to grow their workforce.

"MCG Plastics, Inc. is dedicated to continuing to grow their company and workforce in Bangor Township and Bay County. We are very excited at the chance to continue to work with them during and after this expansion," said Trevor Keyes, Economic Development Specialist of Bay Future, Inc.

Keyes has worked with MCG Plastics, Inc. as part of Bay Future's retention program and assisted the company on the project. #
