The First Night in Hell's Half Mile...

Last night at Old City Hall in Bay City was a great start to this weekends full line up of independent film & music.

The 8th annual Hell's Half Mile Film & Music Festival has officially begun! The band Calcaska opened the night traveling all the way from Flint. Their killer rock songs mixed with some U2 can draw large crowds in the smallest of venues. Lead singer Jeff Gingrich is originally from Bay City and was happy to be in his home town, giving back and doing what he loves.

Check out their album YBL (young blood young love)on itunes and facebook! Second up, The Hounds Below grace Hell's Half Mile... This quartet from Ferndale brings us back to the garage rock era.

"Jason Stollsteimer come from the parent band Von Bodies. He has a distinctive voice and hook-laden songwriting talent. This band knows how to take a song to the next level. Having them here is a testament to Bay City that this festival is on the map." Cole Waterman.
