Kiwanis Club to offer over $43,000 in scholarships

BAY CITY--Bay City Kiwanis is pleased to announce that it has added over $43,000 to its Education Fund at the Bay Area Community Foundation. The fund, established in 1985, was one of the first scholarship funds organized through the Bay Area Community Foundation. To date, this youth-centered service club has awarded $38,300 in scholarships to Bay County students.
The Bay City chapter of Kiwanis was founded in 1917. It is the 36th Kiwanis Club ever established as part of an international organization of more than 13,000 clubs in over 80 countries. The club?s focus is on children?s causes, providing assistance for infant through college ages and on serving individuals with disabilities.
Club members are dedicated to showing an everlasting show of community support through scholarships, sponsorships, donations and more. The club meets at The Texan on the corner of Midland and Euclid in Bay City on Thursdays at noon.
