After her pontifical-like performance in London at the grand opening of the newest Hunger Games movie, Jennifer Lawrence has raised her credential to the level of that previously held only by the like of Princess Diana before her untimely death.
Lawrence, with her entourage in tow, was more like a Pontiff or an elected President as she made her way through the screaming masses on her way up the red carpet for the expected and typical photo-shoot opportunity.
Jennifer Lawrence . . . What's Not to Love?
Here an interview, there an interview, and with every stop, Lawrence handled each microphone pushed at her with the skill and sophistication of a career English Queen or a 6-term politician.
She is honest and funny.
Her self-deprecating humor is beguiling.
"How do you feel about the entire crowd yelling and screaming your name?" asked one onerous interviewer.
"I paid them enough," Lawrence countered without even a blink and then just moved off down the carpet to be engulfed by the screaming masses.
And then "IT" happened.
In this case, the "IT" is the spontaneous act that we (as oglers of the stars) have come to expect from a Pope, a President or the likes of a Princess Di.
Lawrence noticed a young girl in a wheelchair . . . crying . . .
Here's how Today Entertainment reported the incident . . . "With fans screaming and music thumping at Leicester Square, Lawrence spotted a girl in a wheelchair on the other side of a security barrier. The 23-year-old Oscar winner got the barrier moved aside so she could visit with the girl, who appeared to be crying.
Lawrence knelt in front of the girl and signed an autograph and posed for a photograph. She exchanged a few words with the young fan and then hugged her and kissed her on the cheek."
Change the name of Lawrence to either Princess Di or Pope Francis and you have a typical day in the life of one of our most beloved idols.
And on this day, at this moment, Jennifer Lawrence reached the pinnacle of "Popularity Mountain" . . . poked her short-haired head through the clouds and stood head and shoulders above all the rest that is considered good and holy in the world.
And on a less visible mountain top - just off in the distance -- Miley Cyrus climbed down off her wrecking ball, peeled off her ridiculous high-rider leotard, snuffed out her "FATTY" and peered into her mirror.
"Mirror, mirror . . . on the wall . . . (Miley whined) . . . Who's the fairest and most-beloved and most popular of them all?"
"It ain't you, babe," the mirror cackled back at her.
And toward the East, on a higher and more beautiful mountain top, Jennifer Lawrence continued to wave and smile at her adoring fans.
