Bay City Fire Station 5 to Re-open on January 9, 2014

The Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce the re-opening of Fire Station 5

Currently, there are three fire stations operating at 1401 Center Ave. (Station 1), 1000 Fremont (Station 2) and 212 S. Dean St. (Station 4). Fire Station 5 is located at 1209 E. Smith St. and will reopen on Thursday, January 9th at 7 a.m.

Station 5 was closed December 9th of 2009 due to budgetary reasons. As part of the re-organization of police and fire departments into the Department of Public Safety, Fire Station 5 was schedule to be reopened in 2014.

The opening of Fire Station 5 is on schedule and will be staffed by both full time fire fighters and public safety officers. People are welcomed to stop in and say hello and tour the station.
