If somebody dumps something noxious in my back yard, the dumper is the last one I would call on to repair the damage.
Sylvia Earle

Spring yard clean up is both a blessing and a burden.

To see grass, feel temperatures over 30 degrees and to be able to start thinking about getting dusty patio furniture back onto the deck, in anticipation of warm days ahead, give hope to a loooong, confining winter.

However, layer upon layer of snow, that is now finally melting, is revealing layer upon layer of the ugly evidence of having a dog.

The near daily white stuff we've received this winter cleverly hid the piles of doggie land mines, giving me a false sense of the degree of difficulty of the job I knew was ahead.

Don't get me wrong. I love my dog.

I'm just not so crazy about the eternal deposits into the area I pay property taxes on. The dread of cleaning up 5 months of well...er...you know, that stuff we all hate to clean up, is weighing heavy on me after a winter like this past one.

I knew it was going to be bad as each snowstorm made it impossible to find and clean up, any regular basis, the fruits of my dogs diet.

I just didn't realize it was going to be THIS bad.

I recently thought I saw an ad for a service that takes care of this delicate and dirty situation and I may give them a call this year and avoid the whole situation altogether.

I'll just have to forewarn them to bring out the BIG scoops, because they're going to need them. They may be shocked at what a 55 pound dog can do to a small yard over the cold, snowy months.

At any rate, can we finally say "Goodbye Winter!!" and "Viva la Spring?!".
