On Friday 7/11/14 (The Birthday of 7-11) Last Choice Country radio spent 7 hours and 11 minutes broadcasting live from 7-11 on Old Kawkawlin Rd.

Shawn Doyle

As a fundraiser, Kawkawlin Road store owner Jackie Bates sat in a dunk tank for 7 Hours and 11 Minutes raising money for her friend Shawn Doyle. Doyle is still unable to return to work after suffering 3 strokes and emergency open heart surgery.

Contestants paid one dollar per ball to try to dunk Bates. There was a steady line to dunk Jackie all afternoon. "Let's just say I spent a lot of time underwater," Bates laughed. "It was fun . . . and we were doing it for a good friend and a good cause," Bates went on to say.

There is another big fundraiser planned for Doyle later in the month -- July 27, 2014. The late-month benefit is planned for 7/27 at the Willew Lounge, 3005 E Midland Rd, Bay City, Michigan 48706. Chicken Dinner and the BEST entertainment is planned for just $12.00 per person. There will also be a raffle, a 50/50 drawing and an auction
Sooooooo . . . Why did Jackie Bates devote the entire day to Doyle's fundraiser?

"Josh and Shawn have helped me so much with different events that I've done here at my 7-11 store through the years," Bates explained. "It just makes perfect sense to help him (Shawn Doyle) out in his time of need," Bates continued.

Bates has owned the Old Kawkawlin 7-11 store location for the last 7 years

Doyle was very appreciative of the help from all of his friends. "It literally leaves me speechless," said Doyle. "I want to thank Jackie so much for everything."
