Thanks, in part, to a Dow Gives Project Challenge Grant, your Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Community Beautification Committee will plant 40,000 daffodils along US-10 between I-75 and the Thomas/Jenny split. The area is the major entranceway to Bay City.

The Bay Area Chamber is also teaming up with the City of Bay City, Bay County and Monitor and Bangor Townships in this positive joint, cooperative beautification program.

Pat O'Brien, CEO of EMCOR, Inc., chairs the committee. Project team leaders include; Deanna Ledesma, The Dow Chemical Company, Jerry Somalski, Bay Landscaping, Duane Goslin, Dow Corning Corporation, and Vicki Ribble, Bay County Habitat for Humanity.

The two-day volunteer event is scheduled for October 14th & 15th. The staging area for volunteers is the IBEW Local 692 headquarters located at 1300 West Thomas Street.

Volunteers for the planting program can sign up on the Chamber website, www.baycityarea.com. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. The Dow Chemical Company employees should sign up via dow.volunteermatch.org.

During the spring, our entrance to Bay City will absolutely "pop" with color, serving as a great welcome to both visitors and residents.

We especially thank The Dow Chemical Company, our project leaders, the IBEW and of course, our 200+ volunteers who are expected to work on the project for at least 4 hours each.

Thank You...Bay Area!
