MIDLAND TOPS LIST: Several Area School Districts Seek Bond OKs in February

Two other school bond projects for the February 24, 2015 ballot have now been scheduled by the Michigan Department of Treasury, bringing the total value of the current 12 projects to just over $372 million, as reported in Michigan Construction News.
Among the projects are:
*Midland Public Schools, which is asking voters to approve a $121.4 million school bond for renovating and building additions to existing school buildings, installing educational technology, developing and improving playgrounds and athletic fields, and purchasing school business. Serving as project architect is French Associates, Rochester.
*Caro Community Schools, which is requesting a $12.5 million school bond for constructing additions to existing school buildings, renovating existing buildings, adding new educational technology, purchasing school buses, and improving an equipping playgrounds, play fields, and athletic facilities. Serving as architect is Wigen, Tincknell. Meyer & Associates, Saginaw.
*Hillman Community Schools, proposing a $9.9 million school bond, for building additions to its school building, renovating portions of it, installing educational technology, and improving a playground. The architect is Integrated Designs Inc., Brighton.
*Cheboygan Area Schools, seeking voter approval of a $9.4 million bond for renovating school buildings, installing educational technology, and buying school buses. The project architect is Integrated Designs Inc., Brighton.
*Essexville Hampton Schools is asking voters to approve a $4,970,000 bond proposal to finance a cafeteria and multi-purpose room addition to Verellen Elementary School, renovate other school buildings, install educational technology, and buy school buses. Serving as design consultant is K.L. Design Group LLC, East Lansing.
The E-H District also is seeking a three mill sinking fund for five years for various needs of facilities.
*Sandusky Community School District, asking for approval of a $4,650,000 bond issue for installing educational technology, partially renovating school buildings, improving the high school site, and renovating the bus garage. The project architect is Integrated Designs Inc., Brighton.
