As the second semester is set to begin Monday, the Michigan State Department of Education lists 16 charter schools in the Saginaw and mid-Michigan area, including 5 in Saginaw and 4 in Bay City and 3 in Midland.

BAY CITY charter schools include:

Bay City Academy - Farragut Campus, 301 N. Farragut St., kindergarten through 4th grade; authoriser Lake Superior State University, Educational Service Provider, Smart Schools, Inc.;
