Everyone knows that records go out the window when rivals clash. Such was the case when Garber invaded All Saints gym for a Bay County grudge match. As an added bonus, Garber's point guard, Trey Newsham, made his first return to his former home court where he had been a standout player before transferring to Garber in the fall. The result was an exciting hard fought battle with the Dukes pulling off an exciting 68-59 win.

Garber started the game aggressively attacking the Cougar defense while running a full court press. After the Dukes exploded to an early 9-2 lead, All Saints settled down and pulled back to within 1 at 10-9. Senior CJ Glaza helped power the Dukes to a 20-16 first quarter lead with 6 points and strong rebounding.

Garber's Glaza brothers powered the Duke attack both offensively and defensively in the third period. Desmond slashed to the basket knocking down 8 points while older brother CJ controlled the boards on both ends while tallying 5 points of his own. Justin Bates kept his Cougars in the game. Bates consistently found an open player while knocking down 6 points himself as the Cougars stayed within 8, 45-37.

The fourth quarter saw both sides ignite. Trey Newsham led Garber by controlling the tempo and firing from three point range. Garber nailed four three point shots threatening to run away with the game. But the Cougars clawed their way back into the game led by Hunter Skorczewski's 9 points.

In the end, free throw shooting ruled the quarter with Garber making 9 of 10 shots and All Saints sank 10 of 13 from the charity stripe. After pulling ahead, Garber held on as All Saints threatened to come back before the Duke defense shut them down for a 68-59 Garber win.
