Amy Thompson, of
Photo Creations By Amy, has been a photographer for almost 10 years, and says, "It's one of the most difficult careers to pursue." She adds, "There are constant ongoing sacrifices and commitments, financially and personally. It's not by any means luxurious, involves a lot of tears, a lot of giving up and trying again, a thick skin, and resilience."
Recognizing that fellow photographers may be going through some of the same things, she has created a community space for photographers that is affordable for beginners and professionals alike to work, learn and grow.
"They can do what they LOVE and are passionate about without spending the thousands of dollars it takes to do it." explains Amy. "There are so many areas for natural light within the studio, so expensive lighting isn't needed. If they want to try expensive lighting, it's here for them to use! They don't have to spend thousands of dollars to keep up with the variety that is needed to sell their work, there is variety here, props backdrops, natural and historic rooms, graffiti art, accessories, and it's ever growing."

The space offers several different areas to use and has many spots of natural light, considered to be optimum for photography. The studio has recently starting renting out space for workshops and to Make-Up Artists, looking for room for bigger groups of clients and exceptional light to work in.
You can find
Blank Canvas Studios on Facebook or contact Amy directly at (989) 327-2462.
Says Amy, "I'm here and it's a blessing, the feedback has been amazing, and this community keeps me going!"
