Thinking Out Loud
Call To Action

May 3, 2015
By: Diane Szczepanski

Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions.
Dallin H. Oakes

The desire to ride my bike today, has overridden the desire to do the laundry.

It was a simple choice. I still have clean underwear in the dresser and the weather is balmy and sunny.

The world will not end if the weeding of the yard goes another week. Dust bunnies can enjoy their accommodations a few more days without dire consequences and if I wash the dirty car, it will just rain.

So, desires to enjoy the last day of the weekend shifted my priorities as dramatically as the weather did.

My choices have determined I will have the sun on my face and the wind flying through my hair on my ten speed.

And I do believe in this instance, "Carpe Diem" is the correct course of action.
