MONITOR TWP.- Kerkau Manufacturing, a premier manufacturer of the highest quality pipe flanges, precision machined products, and microorganism destroying sterilization cabinets in their industry, has announced investment of more than $4.3 million at their Monitor Township facility. This announcement comes off the unanimous approval by the township board of the company's Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Application, Monday night. The board granted the company a 12-year, 50 percent abatement on the real property investment in the project.

This is Kerkau's third announced investment in less than three years, which has totaled more than $8.5 million in announced investment in Bay County.

"Our company's focus on providing exceptional customer service, while producing quality products, and looking towards continual improvement has positioned us to continue to grow and invest," said Laura Horney, Vice President of Kerkau Manufacturing. "We have been very fortunate and we are grateful for the support we have received."

Gary Brandt, Monitor Township Supervisor said, "We support our companies in Monitor Township and we want to see them grow. We have seen a lot of work done by Kerkau over the years and we want to continue to see it happen in to the future. We will do whatever we can to help that happen."

Construction on the expansion at its current facility in the Valley Center Technology Park has recently begun and will allow Kerkau to expand its warehousing operations and sales department. It will also help them retain more than 35 jobs.

"Investment by the companies that are already in our community is key to the economic vitality of Bay County," said Mark D. Litten, President & CEO of Bay Future, Inc. "We thank Kerkau Manufacturing for that and commend the Monitor Township board for recognizing it."

Bay Future, Inc. worked with the company, Monitor Township, and the Monitor Township DDA, to secure the parcels needed for expansion and offered service and support through the abatement and application process.
